The Sterling Shining Star Award is an annual program that recognizes and rewards school district employees. Nominees must be full-time educators, teachers, administrators or any member of a school’s staff who makes a positive difference in the lives of students. The Sterling Shining Star Award will be awarded without regard to race, gender, religion, age, national origin, sexual orientation or disability.
Anyone over the age of 18 can nominate up to three educators per academic year for Sterling Shining Star. Administrators are encouraged to nominate as well.
The winner and his or her school is awarded a cash prize of $10,000 to be shared equally between the Shining Star and school.
Sterling Shining Star wants to make sure every educator who is nominated knows how much they are appreciated. We honor every nominee with the following:
Each nominee has the opportunity to be among our Sterling Shining Star Nominees and is eligible for the Sterling Shining Star Award – which also means a chance for him or her and the respective school to receive cash prizes.
When nominations close the selection committee will review the nominees and select the Sterling Shining Star Award winners.
The Sterling Shining Star Award Selection Committee reviews all nominations and selects winners for each school year.
