How has this person changed your life?: Coach Van Meter has been an amazing teacher, coach and mentor to me. I have had many great teachers, however Coach Van Meter will always stand out as the best. He is a positive role model and a person that students respect. His class was one that I looked forward to attending.

Quyen and I are co-department chairs for the Science department at Gahr High school, I could not handle this job without her. She is a great person to bounce ideas off of and often comes up with solutions for problems that I hadn't even come close to thinking of. How has this person changed your life?: I have known Mr. Fleming for 22 years now. He was my high school Chemistry teacher. Then, when I became a teacher (following his inspiration), he was our district science instructional specialist & I had the privilege of learning from him once more. Since HS, he has been my most favorite teacher. He always makes learning relevant & fun, but most importantly, he cares about his students & work family. How has this person changed your life?: Mrs. Allen contributed maximum support as an accomplished Education Specialist. She has allowed me to work with students with disabilities to increase their interest in higher learning. Mrs. Allen also aided me in implementing Computer program technologies which contributed to improve Students’ analytical skills. Finally, Mrs. Allen was instrumental in assisting with modification of the general education curriculum for students with special needs, which tremendously improved my capacity for delivering services to this group of students.
How has this person changed your life?: Ms. Hughey worked with challenged readers as their Read 180 rotation teacher for the past 4 years. She always sets high expectations for the her group of students even if they are just new to the country and struggles to learn. She spends her own money to buy them prizes when the students improved on their reading levels and she always has motivating and kind words for the students she works with. [...]
